The Best Alaska Fishing Books
If you want to get the most out of your Alaskan fishing trip then it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the best spots and fishing tips by reading some good quality fishing books about Alaska.
Whilst there are many books available on this subject, only a few really stand out in terms of quality and uniqueness of material. I like reading Alaska fishing books which are either written by locals or by professional fisherman who really know the ins and outs of Alaska fishing.
Fishing Alaska's Kenai Peninsula: A Complete Angler's Guide is one of my absolute favorites. The Kenai is of course the best spot in Alaska to go fishing, particularly trout and salmon fishing and this book really covers everything you need to know. In fact I recommend this book as the one you need if you only buy one guide.
Along with location specific information you'll also find stream access info, timing, tactics, and equipment guides. Written by Dave Atcheson and with a 100% rating on Amazon, this is a must have guide to Alaskan fishing.
Alaska Fishing: The Ultimate Angler's Guide, Deluxe Third Edition is another 5 star rated book and one of my favorites. The book contains over 300 suggested fishing locations. Enough to keep any angler happy for a while!
Alaska Fishing on a Budget: A First-Timer's Guide to Organizing and Planning an Economy Salmon Fishing Trip to the Last Frontier is an excellent beginner’s guide. If you have never been to Alaska to fish before then this is the book you need. It really covers absolutely everything you need not only about fishing in Alaska for the first time but everything to do with travel right down to vehicle hire and protecting yourself from bugs and bears. A must have book!
These are just three of the many books available on this subject. I've carefully chosen these three to recommend to you as I truly believe they contain all the information you'll need to make your Alaskan fishing trip a memorable and stress free one.
